I’ve had a chance to tweak the site a bit, adding some new plugins to help with the menus and using some Wordpress role capabilities to hide/control some content. Plus I’ve put a login form and logout function on the main page.

Had a “good Dad” Moment the other night

As a parent I often wonder if I’m doing the right things to teach and steer my kids in the right direction. It’s not something I worry about, but it sits in the back of my mind and pops up from time to time. I can certainly recall the “bad dad” moments, like forgetting a fancy dress day at creche; all the other girls were fairies and princesses and I got “the look” from my eldest.

Checking out Aikido

As a follow up to my last post on my training in Bushidokan, I went to watch my brother’s Aikido class on Tuesday night. I must say it was at the other end of the spectrum of martial arts from Busidokan, much closer to the Iaido I studied for a few months.

One door closes, another opens?

It seems to have happened in such a short time, but my martial arts endeavours have come to a sudden halt. Just a few weeks ago I was struggling through my Black Belt Qualifier program with the end in sight and now it seems my time at Ultimate studying Bushidokan is at an end. How did this come about, what’s next and what have I learned?
