Just finished a great book

My wife and I have been getting into the new Doctor Who series books recently (just have a look at my library). Unlike novels from the previous Doctor Who series’ these are not just novelisations of the existing episodes; these take the Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant characters (most with Rose, Martha or Donna) and create new stories. Wev’e got 21 of them on the shelf at the moment and due to go get some more soon.
I just finished Prisoner of the Daleks by Trevor Baxendale. This features the 10th Doctor (David Tennant) by himself, apparently after Donna, and the Daleks. It’s very well written and keeps you engaged all the way through. This is probably the best book I’ve read dealing with the Daleks. He really gives them character, especially Dalek X. All the way through I could start to fill out a Dalek universe (if only I was an author).
So, I’d highly recommend this one. There have been some great stories, such as Ghosts of India, The Eyeless, and The Doctor Trap. But this is certainly the best I’ve read, and the best book I’ve read in a long time.
