No More Kings – Sweep the Leg
My family grew up doing Karate at around the time that The Karate Kid (wikipedia). We knew the script by heart. So when I came across this clip many many years later, on my second go at martial arts, it sparked a lot of memories. The band have done a brilliant job of bringing back some of the great bits of the film and some of the characters (“Get him a body bag, yeah”).

Tenacious D – Tribute
I remember hearing this on Triple-J and thinking it was a serious song. It took a while!
This is a live version done in Sydney.

BBC Orchestra – Samuel Barbers Adagio for Strings Opus #11
This is a brilliant piece of music; you can’t help but be moved by it. This version was done to honour the Sept 11 attack. Pity about the guy coughing through it.
If you think you recognize it, it’s the music from Platoon.
Lucia Micarelli & Jethro Tull – Kashmir Cover
I have been a fan of both Jethro Tull and Led Zepplin since my early teens. I stumbled upon this cover of Led Zepplin’s Kashmir recently.

The Big Ad
This ad came out after the Lord of the Rings combined New Zealand’s magnificent scenery and animation to make ten people look like ten thousand.

This is an ad for Toyota utes. Some people didn’t see the funny side of it but I loved it. It was a regular ad in The Panel.
