This mornings visit was a bit of an eye opener. With many years in the military, seeing soldiers with submachine guns is not a surprise. Seeing them heavily armed on a subway and following them up the hill to Sacre Coeur was. I can't imagine that in Australia. I was too early for the church, so enjoyed the French passtime of enjoying a cafe watching the world go by. I did take in the stairs and parapet walk, which was both closed in and high (good fun). Following this I wandered around the back streets and down to Mont Matre.
